Ellie Potter joined CEBA in 2025 as the deputy director of policy and advocacy communications, supporting internal and external communications for the policy and government affairs efforts of the organization.
Prior to joining CEBA, Ellie spent three years at ACORE as the senior public affairs manager for the Macro Grid Initiative, an educational campaign seeking to expand and upgrade the nation’s electric transmission system. In that role, she led a speakers bureau, oversaw content creation, managed social media accounts, and coordinated with other transmission advocates on communications campaigns.
Ellie started her career as a journalist, reporting for local newspapers in North Dakota and Virginia before moving to Washington, D.C., to cover energy for S&P Global. There, she spent nearly five years reporting on federal energy policy and its impact on the electricity, renewable energy, fossil fuel, and mining industries. Ellie graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in energy policy and climate.
