Dawn James is the Executive Director of the Texas Energy Buyers Alliance (TEBA), leading the organization and its work on behalf of major energy customers across Texas.
Dawn brings more than 25 years of experience across energy, technology, and infrastructure. Most recently, she served as the managing principal of the executive consulting firm Sustainability Leadership & Training LLC, advising energy organizations on growth strategy, market development, and transformation. Previously, she was a managing director at Deloitte and the global director of energy & sustainability strategy at Microsoft, working with Fortune 100 companies, utilities, and major corporate energy users on complex energy and technology challenges. Her early career included hydrogeology research with the U.S. Geological Survey and geotechnical engineering supporting major building and development projects.
Dawn is a member of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Innovation Advisory Committee and has held leadership roles across the clean energy ecosystem, including serving as board chair of Greentown Labs and in board leadership with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI). She holds an MSc in Geoscience from California State University and an executive certification in big data and predictive analytics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
