Erik Smith serves as Senior Associate for Policy Operations and brings over a decade of operations experience in the energy industry.
Most recently, Erik served at the Solar Energy Industries Association, where he managed the development and publication of the solar industry’s first-ever national ANSI standards. Erik also managed standards development, intellectual property licensing and distribution, and environmental and quality management system certification at the American Petroleum Institute. Prior to his experience in the energy industry, Erik served as an aerospace medical technician in the United States Air Force and as a literacy intervention specialist in AmeriCorps, honing a mission-first approach to operational excellence.
Erik holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland University College and a Graduate Certificate in Environment, Peace, and Conflict Resolution from American University.
